"She's only fifteen, you know, Wakka."

"You can be a guardian at any age. There was a summoner who had his kid brother as a guardian..."

Lulu rolls her eyes, stepping closer to Wakka and pushing lightly at his shoulder. "I'm not talking about her being a guardian. She's useful in a battle -- often more useful than you."

Wakka winces slightly, looking confused. "What are you talking about, then?"

"The way you look at her... remember she's just a kid."

"I don't -- "

Wakka stopped when he saw the dangerous look in Lulu's eyes. It was pointless trying to lie to her.

She always knew.

Excellent dialogue. It must have hurt to think that Wakka was defending Rikku and then to find himself on the defensive.

I adore the ay Wakka recognizes he can't hide things from Lulu and it's so true. Lulu is sharp as a tack and Wakka is pretty clueless. *grins* This was a fun read.
