Wakka holds Vidina carefully, reluctantly -- and very, very carefully, after a million lectures from Lulu about it -- handing the kid over to Rikku. Rikku looks on fire with nervousness. "What if I drop him?"

"You won't."

"Such faith in me," she teases, clutching the kid close.

Wakka watches the girl with the kid and thinks for a moment that it could be theirs. Green Al Bhed eyes, maybe, in a different tent in a different part of the world.

Rikku sits down, bending over the kid a little. "Don't go regretting it now, Wakka. You never said anything."

"I couldn't."

"So don't now, okay?"
