At first she thinks it's going great. He stares into her eyes plenty but doesn't notice or doesn't care. It has to be the latter, she thinks, and it's like a dance around the subject for her just in case. A lovely little dance of I like you, you like me back, leading up to one big moment. But then everything falls down like a fragile house of cards at one discordant note after another, and leaves Rikku shaking and crying in her bed, so much not done that can never be done now, and she cries for the anticlimax.
