With Rinoa sat on him like this, strange and close and a little uncomfortable when it comes to her, he thinks of Seifer. He thinks of Seifer because he's never held anyone like this before.
But he has been held like this.
They were fifteen, then, before the fighting. Seifer wasn't quite so much of an arrogant bastard. Squall smiled more. They had no reason to keep their relationship secret.
And sat on Seifer's bed in his room one day. Squall in Seifer's lap, Seifer's arms around him tight and secure.
Squall blinks back tears at the memory and tries to focus on Rinoa.
