The two of them had to be very well equipped to get on well in life together. Edge had his ego -- a very healthy one, well protected by a very thick skin, indignance and pride -- and Rydia had her tongue, which had been sharpened on angry shadows in her dreams complaining that she'd abandoned Mist and any chance for the people she'd known. A lesser guy might've been daunted, and a lesser woman might have gotten too annoyed, but as it was comfortable, for them. She reminded him he wasn't everything, he reminded her that she was enough.

Mmm. So lovely. I particularly like the last sentence; it's a fabulous summary of their relationship and how they work for each other.
