Brother says something and Paine turns away, rolling her eyes, about to leave until Rikku sidles up to her, slipping an arm around her waist. She stiffens up a little, but nobody's looking, so she endures the quick squeeze and the kiss on her cheek before Rikku slips past her.

Realising that Rikku just stole her opportunity to go out on the bridge alone, Paine has to huff, but she follows.

After all, Rikku's presence is getting less and less annoying these days. Paine even likes the constant talking, some of the time, while Rikku calms down (just a little bit, though).

Very nice :) Although to nitpick: "Paine's even even likes the constant talking" - I think you have one too many evens, and also, should Paine be possessive?
