It breaks her heart a little that they've broken apart as they have. Once they were four together; one for all and all for one -- and now they're so much less, four bickering units. The place where the bullet went in still aches a little with a phantom pain that she knows isn't real, but can't deny. There's a worse bullet buried in her that nothing seems to shift, pain of betrayal and missing them. She's secretly fragile now she's out of the framework that was them. She doesn't know if they can be together again. But she hopes.

I really like the awareness that together they were so much greater than they are apart. It's very bittersweet.
