He's a little blurry on the details right now, but he's sure something's wrong. She's never been soft and gentle to him before when he's been wounded, not even when they fought Zeromus, just brusque and dismissing, but now her face is pale and concerned. They're married and she's never looked at him like that before.
"It's bad," he says, without needing her to confirm it.
She kisses him. "Not too bad."
It's bad, though. He knows it because she's concerned and all blurry. She runs a hand through his hair, tugging a little, hard with shards of frustration. "Hold on, damn you."
