They dance again at the end.
The end of all the trouble, that is, or the end of all the trouble for this age, anyway. It seems like there's a party every week and everyone wants to see the beautiful young sorceress and her knight. Everyone wants to look at them, stare at them, take them apart and analyse them, and she wonders that Squall lets her drag him along to party after party, but he does and ruthlessly, recklessly, she's glad.
She likes the feeling of being in his arms, feels safe and protected and perfect, especially because he doesn't put a foot wrong any more. She spins and sways and he moves with her, sometimes even smiling, echoing every movement.
She feels so alive.
So she dances for that life. She dances for life and love and Squall's smile. She dances for every dead body, every hope crushed, every maimed soldier and civilian. She dances for heartbreak and sorrow and dances it all away, and she likes to think no one can be sad while she dances. She dances for Squall's heart and he dances too. She doesn't know if he feels it, but it doesn't matter if he does or he doesn't.
Dance for life. Dance for peace. Dance for the feeling of the world's eyes on you in peace and harmony. Dance to be part of the whole, to move away the hours and ward off the clock tick of boredom. Dance to keep the warmth in Squall's eyes.
The movements can never become mechanical. Just practised.

They dance like it's a spell for protection and Rinoa's magic wraps around them like a shield, holding them close, holding the world safe from harm. Every movement of her feet is a spell cast, protection and peace and a calming hush.
