Summary: Mal doesn't make sense to Simon. Hint of Mal/Simon.


Mal doesn't really make much sense to Simon, not yet. He's all fierce undying loyalty to his crew, but he doesn't have much of a care for anyone else. Simon is sure that he wouldn't be welcomed to the crew if he wasn't a doctor, but there's something in Mal's face that says that isn't the only reason.

Mal seems to approve of him. That's the word. Approve.

He's glad to have a place, anyway. Glad to be with the others, especially smiling shiny Kaylee, to have somewhere safe(ish) for River.

And, though he'd deny it, glad for the chance to know Mal.

I've only just started watching it. Homg love for it, though. I'm watching it an episode a day with my sister (but me and candywrapper have plans to marathon watch it in the summer, somewhere in between all the smooching and squeeing we'll be doing! xD).

Good to know I've got a grip on their characters already, at least a little. xD :D
