Summary: Vivi won't believe it. For
madain_sari.
Vivi can't believe that Zidane's dead. It's not that he's denying the truth of it, it's that he truly doesn't believe that Zidane is dead. He was -- is -- so full of life and laughter and so many good things. Vivi dreams of his return, of his smiles, of his quick easy laughter.
Vivi dreams of Garnet's happy ending and wakes feeling vaguely happy, happy for Garnet and happy that Zidane will live. He believes his dreams, if only because it's a comfort to hope, and doesn't speak or think of Zidane in the past tense.
And sure enough, he's right.
