Summary: She's proud of Alexandria, but... Title comes from Faultlines by Karine Polwart. For
madain_sari.
Garnet is proud of Alexandria, of course. But sometimes that pride is something she's been taught, something hammered into her that has become her as much as the beautiful dress and the tiara and the sweet manners. She feels more like she wants to help everybody, not just Alexandria, like she wants to hold the world in her hands like a sick bird.
Sometimes she thinks Alexandria might be enough to hold, because the weight of doing nothing but holding is far, far too much already.
Her hands are aching with the weight, but giving up was never something she was taught.
