Summary: Tifa is shocked when Aeris dies. Original game canon.


Tifa's kind of shocked numb the moment the sword slides through Aeris. Like a knife through butter, no resistance, like Aeris just let it in. She wants to run forward, catch Aeris, cast cure spells and scream at her.

She doesn't move, though.

Tifa hears the 'ting' of the materia as it clatters away and she wants to look away from Aeris, follow the materia's movement, see what it is, but she can't.

"You lose friends, doin' shit like this," Barret once said, "but it's worth it for the Planet."

And she wants to scream it's not worth it, but she has no voice.
