Summary: Vivi is almost too scared to move. For
madain_sari.
Vivi is scared. He was scared even before the monster trapped Garnet but now he's more scared than ever, and though all he wants to do is crouch down and maybe cry a little, there's not enough room inside the Prison Cage for that, so he watches Zidane and Steiner fighting.
Zidane will save him. Right?
Zidane is strong. He noticed that. And the light and energy of Trance licks around him as his energy surges to meet the battle call, and while Vivi wonders if he can ever do that, he knows that Zidane will look after him, if he sticks with him.
He sees Zidane's almost expectant look at him and closes his eyes, still scared, still shaking, still sick with it, and casts Fire. And again. And again. And again.
And hears Zidane's excited whoop when his Fire spell kills the monster.
He jumps off it, shaking with adrenaline and still a little sick and feeling like he might faint. Being so brave is, he concludes, a thing for strong people like Zidane. For little people like him, it's probably not worth the effort.
(But then, Zidane looks so pleased with him that maybe... maybe he should do it again.)
