At first, Yuffie stays away from them a lot. Aerith worries. She and Leon wait for Yuffie to join them every day, but she doesn't always, and when she does she's either withdrawn, simply needing company, or she's all the company anyone would need. All of her attention is focused inwards, and Aerith and Leon simply wait that out patiently.
Everyone has that kind of time. Right?
Leon is always in that stage. Aerith feels very lonely, sometimes, with them both like that. But she smiles. And there's Cid to talk to, too, but though he's a nice enough guy, one of the nicest people she knows, with a good heart, she doesn't really click with him like she did with Yuffie, once upon a time.
She's trapped into her own loneliness, and trying never to show a thing.
She tries to make a home for Leon and Yuffie. A home contained in herself, one they can't lose. She has to take care of herself, for this, of course. She has to be careful, has to be so good.
But if it helps them, she'll do it.
