FFVIII: Refresh
Fandom: Final Fantasy VIII
Pairing: Laguna/Squall
Warnings: Incest, sap
Rating: PG
Summary: Squall lets himself go, just a little.
There's a certain amount of peace to be found with Laguna. Squall's come to know it and love it, and maybe he even needs it by now, though he'd never admit it. He works himself half to death for SeeD, for Garden, for the kids who will be killers, and it rips him apart inside and then every six months he gets a vacation and off he goes to see Laguna, to stay in Esthar, to rest with his father.
('Father' in inverted commas. That's not why he's there and nearly everyone knows it.)
Once he gets there, Laguna takes a holiday and piles his work onto Kiros for the two weeks Squall will be there, or at least a week of his stay, anyway, and he spends the time being Squall's lover.
(Squall long ago stopped thinking about how messed up it is.)
The only thing he thinks of when he's with Laguna is Laguna. Laguna and his endearing bumbling ways, Laguna and his rambling speeches, Laguna and his soft clever touch. The way he (mostly) knows exactly what to do.
(He has a way with Squall.)
The holiday is a way to let go, and Squall lets go freely when he's in Esthar, goes back to Garden refreshed.
(Because Laguna won't allow him to go back if he isn't.)
