"Thief!" Paine glares at him and Baralai blinks surprise and Nooj raises an eyebrow.
"Shit, girl, I was just looking." Gippal holds his hands in front of him in defence and carefully puts whatever-the-hell-it-is down right back where he picked it up from. "Just because I'm an Al Bhed doesn't mean I'm a thief, you know. Didn't even know it was yours."
"Give him a chance, Paine," Baralai suggests softly, and avoids Gippal's eye when he tries to smile his thanks. He's a Yevonite, after all, and doesn't approve of Al Bhed.
Nooj rolls his eyes and leaves the children to their arguments.
