"Edge... that kid of ours inherited your loud mouth."

Rydia's head is buried under the pillow, her voice muffled, and Edge is conveniently deaf to her complaint until she wriggles closer and kicks him in the ankle.

"Hey! Sleepy head! Go and tell him to shut up!"

"Too tired."

"You're too tired?" Rydia had that dangerous no-sex-for-two-weeks tone already.

"Are you sure he didn't inherit your annoyingness?"

"Annoyingness isn't a word. I don't think, anyway," she informed him from underneath the pillow.

Edge sighed and got up. He couldn't win. And maybe, just for a little peace and a few more minutes in bed afterwards...
