FFX-2: About Time

Fandom: Final Fantasy X-2
Pairing: Gippal/Baralai
Warnings: Sap
Rating: PG
Summary: Baralai almost died.

"I thought you were going to die..." Gippal was breathless, holding Baralai tight, squeezing the very breath out of him, too. The embrace wasn't exactly one sided, of course, Baralai was almost clinging to Gippal as well, to the amusement of their friends.

"You gave us all a bit of a fright," Nooj clarified, the amusement evident only in the dryness of his tone as he examined his wound, deciding that it didn't need any treatment. "Not just Gippal."

He wasn't ever completely sure whether the two of them ever heard him.

Paine was sorting through the medical supplies. For a moment, Nooj was puzzled; she'd already done all she needed to do for Baralai. But when she stood up and moved towards him, bandages and cream to ward off infection in her hands, he understood. "I don't need -- "

"Yes, you do," she said calmly, and as if his protests meant nothing, grabbed his arm. She had a surprisingly strong grip and Nooj thought that, perhaps, it was better to let her patch him up than to be forced to let her patch him up. He bore the rather rough cleansing and binding of the wound without a word, and Paine didn't try to make conversation.

She stood up to put away her supplies, turning away from him, and then made an almost annoyed -- or perhaps amused -- sighing sound.

Nooj didn't understand what she was sighing about for a moment, but then he looked over at Baralai and Gippal.

They were still clinging to each other. In fact, they were closer than ever. It looked somewhat like a competition to see who could shove whose tongue further down whose throat, he thought to himself. And looked away, seeing as that was the polite thing to do. He knew Baralai would be mortified later.

"About time," he heard Paine mutter, and silently, he agreed.
