A heck of a lot of people told Dean all about heaven, pretty much throughout his life. The life Dad led, well, it passed through more than a couple of churches, in the process of blessing things and finding rituals and old books and figuring out where to dig up dead bodies. And there was Pastor Jim, too. For some reason they seemed to think they knew exactly what heaven was like, and exactly how Dean wanted heaven to be, and they decided that the two were the same thing.
Which is pretty much bullshit.
Dean's idea of heaven is closer to this -- his body wrapped around someone else's body, the taste of them in his mouth, their warmth bleeding into his, heartbeat thudding against his chest, almost synchronised. It could be anyone, but it's best like this, when it's Sam. It's closest to Dean's idea of heaven when it's his baby brother lying under him, trailing little biting kisses up his neck.
He's pretty sure that's the kind of thing that gets you sent to hell. When he was a bit younger, he used to wonder how bad hell could be, whether it'd be so bad to go there as long as he has Sam. He's under no illusions now, but still -- this has got to be closer to hell than to heaven, no matter how good it feels, and he doesn't actually care.
