Dean's clothes are soft, worn down; washed out and mended and comfortable, a second skin. Sam can feel the heat of his body through them, not just a vague warmth but real heat. It seems like more of a tease, when what he wants is Dean's real skin. He unbuttons Dean's shirt -- slowly, 'cause he doesn't feel like helping him sew buttons back on in the morning, and it's the only clean shirt Dean's got. He pulls the top of Dean's shirt open, leans in to flick his tongue over Dean's collarbone, tasting sweat. The night is stifling, wrapping itself close around them. It feels safe. Dean is quiet, breathing faster now; his hand slowly rising, cupping the back of Sam's neck.
"Sam," he says, softly, and Sam shakes his head, fumbling with the buttons, shoving the damn shirt off.
"Ssh. Come on. Let me..."
"You too," Dean says, insistent, and Sam stops, fumbles with his own clothes, hauling them off, unbuttoning his jeans. Dean watches for a moment and then undoes his jeans too, and Sam watches him breathlessly.
It's not like he's never seen Dean naked. They're brothers, for god's sake. But that's kind of the problem, too. Dean likes to do it with the lights off, furtive and quick, almost anonymous even though they're weighted down with feeling. Or they'll do it in alleyways, pants pushed just far enough down. Or in the car.
So rarely like this.
"I love you," Sam says, and he would say Dean's beautiful, but man, his ego's big enough already and he has way too much material to tease with.
Dean doesn't say it back, just flashes Sam a little grin. "Get here already," he says, sprawling out on the bed, naked and in the light. Sam's mouth goes dry.
