I'm never going to understand you.

It's easy to think you're normal. Big, loving family. Ordinary face, ordinary clothes, ordinary height: neither above or below average. If I didn't know better, you'd just be an ordinary English boy to me, too, for all that you've been my closest, my only, friend since we were little.

I know better. I don't know why, but it's bone-deep, instinctive. You're not normal. You're something else entirely. I can tell, sometimes, from your eyes. That's all that gives you away.

You're going to break my heart: that's something I know as instinctively as I know that you're not as normal and average as you pretend. I know. You'll go away, or you'll let me see that part of you that you're hiding, and my world will be changed and ripped apart.

And I don't care. I'll stay. Even when you break my heart, I'll stay.
