Kazuki's threads dig into his skin -- enough to hurt, a reminder, but not enough to cut. Not if he doesn't move. Toshiki's eyes are wide. "Kazuki, what -- "
"I'm not letting you leave again," Kazuki says, his voice even, and yet somehow Toshiki hears the pain there. The threads tighten a little, digging into the flesh of his arms. "I don't want to hurt you, Toshiki. But I can't let you go again."
Toshiki feels as if he can hardly breathe. "I won't betray you again."
"That's not my concern." There's a rustle of fabric and Toshiki knows Kazuki stood up; a soft chime of his bells and he knows he's moved to stand just behind him. The threads shift a little, and Toshiki doesn't resist as Kazuki gently manoeuvres his threads to turn him. "I missed you, Toshiki."
"Kazuki -- "
"Say you'll stay," Kazuki says, and the threads tighten a little again. Toshiki realises that that isn't intentional -- that, for once, Kazuki isn't in perfect control of his threads. "Juubei and I want you to stay."
"But -- "
"Toshiki," and there's a hint of pleading there now, something hurt in Kazuki's brown eyes. Toshiki closes his own eyes.
"Yes," he says. "I'll stay."
