To see Kazuki again was a strange joy, a mixed joy, a churning inside him. And after that, there was no time for thought -- but now, now he can think, now there's nothing but thought, and darkness. Thought, and darkness, and Kazuki's touch, the soft press of Kazuki's mouth against his skin, the light chime of Kazuki's bells.
"Juubei," Kazuki says, soft, melting, and they kiss: Juubei longs to be able to see him, to at least see his eyes, and he buries that longing in their kiss, in the way his fingers twine in Kazuki's hair, a forgotten familiarity.
He squeezes his eyes tighter shut.
"Juubei," Kazuki whispers again, touching his face, sliding his fingertips up. Juubei should be mortified at the way Kazuki stills, noticing the dampness on his face. But he just lies still, trusting. Kazuki's fingers brush his face gently now, wiping the tears away. "Are you sad?"
"No," he says, and knows that Kazuki can read all the layers of meaning in a single word of his.
"Oh, Juubei," Kazuki says, softer than ever, and kisses him again, kisses the trails tears have left on his cheek.
