ff_threesomes.
"Do you think we'll ever leave here again?" Kairi asks. Her voice is quiet, and her hand shifts a little in Sora's. She keeps looking up at the sky, though, not turning her head to look at them -- at Sora, and at Riku, laying beside her on the beach. Sora squeezes her head.
"I don't know. We've got friends in so many worlds now, so..."
Riku laughs. "That, and Sora needs some adventure in his life."
"That's you," Sora says, making a face, and then regrets it. Kairi's grip on his hand tightens a little and the two of them almost seem not to breathe, turning their heads now to see Riku. But Riku just smiles.
"Not anymore," he says, shrugging a little. "You two are enough adventure for me, and anyway, normal adventures always seem to mean separation."
"Good," Kairi says, squeezing Sora's hand again, in sudden gladness. "I don't want to go on any adventures without you. And I don't want to stay behind without you, either."
Sora smiles, tipping his head back to look up at the bright blue expanse of the sky. He tightens his hold on both hands, his thumb skimming over Riku's knuckles. "We need each other," he says, softly. "We won't be going anywhere unless it's together, now."
