I'm not sure how it ever came to this. Humans are the most annoying creatures I've ever known, yet they're also some of the more intriguing. I do love earth. And its people, even though they can be the stupidest idiots I've ever known.
Even these two. Even these two, though I've never loved two humans more -- no, I've never loved anyone more, Gallifreyan or any other race. They do have their moments. Now and then.
Rose snuggles against me, her blond hair rumpled, and Jack wraps an arm around her, raising an eyebrow at me, daring me.
I hold them both.
