You come to me, hurt and uncomprehending, almost falling into my arms and clutching at me, desperate like I've never seen you. When you're upset, you flail, you storm, you squawk, you eat, you go to your mother. This is the first time you've come to me. This is the first time I've ever seen you really cry. I've seen you sob, when we were children, anger and fears and everything else coming out in choking breaths.
But now you have tears in your eyes.
And so do I.
You have no comfort for me. We have no comfort for each other.
