Quistis never knew what prompted her to kiss him, all things considered -- the fact that she'd said she felt like a sister to him, the fact that Rinoa had left only a week before, the fact that he was technically her commander and in any case part of the same military group... It didn't seem to matter to either of them, in the moment: she just bent down and pressed her lips to his, and he kissed back, and though he looked at her afterwards with the strangest look in his eyes -- it didn't seem to matter.
