Seifer has to admit it. Zell doesn't need steel in his hand to be one of the best fighters Seifer knows -- hardly a rival, but good nonetheless. There's something about his quickness, the way he doesn't pull punches -- Seifer enjoys fighting with him almost as much as he enjoys his now infrequent matches against Garden's very own prodigy, the youngest military commander in the world and, in Seifer's eyes more importantly, the only other gunblade specialist.
It takes a lot to match up to a pedigree like that with just your fists. In Seifer's opinion, Zell is there.
