He swam towards the shore, and some irrational part of him said I'm home, even though the area looked nothing like Zanarkand, couldn't possibly be Zanarkand, not even a thousand years later than the time he knew.
It was something in the grin of the man on the shore, he thought. There was something about that, so familiar, so right, that told him he was right where he needed to be.
Even before the guy spoke, he knew they were on the same wavelength. He could only hope, feeling a thousand years difference between them strongly, that the guy knew it too.
