Summary: It's a surprise.
It's a surprise when she kisses him, a tender-sweet young girl kind of kiss, and at first he can't really believe that she's really kissing an old fart like him, a guy long past his sell-by date. Then he only thinks that he's crazy to be kind of liking this, because she can't really mean this and anyway he has no right to a young girl like her in his life as anything more than a fellow guardian.
And then Rikku, who has a mind of her own and a good one, sweeps all such thoughts out of his head.
