F: Something So Stupid
Fandom: Firefly
Pairing: Mal/Simon
Warnings: None
Rating: PG13
Summary: A desire to get all rumpled. Another drabble for
candywrapper.
Simon tugs his clothes straight when he sees Mal coming up to the infirmary, resisting the urge to duck out of the room and avoid him. He's been doing that a lot lately -- avoiding him -- and he's almost sure Mal will notice, in the way that he felt sure the male nurse who helped him during his first operations knew that he wanted him. All in all, awkward, and more so now because -- well, he doesn't even like Mal. Really.
The thing is, just the sight of Mal wants him to get all hot and rumpled and do things entirely depraved, in a way that the sight of Kaylee, even when they were together, never did. He wants Mal to push him back against the nearest available surface and ravish him.
He's glad, in a way, that Inara isn't on board anymore, even though she represented a last link to civilisation. She'd be able to read him too well, read the impulse and the desires in his eyes. He's glad that River hasn't said anything, content to give him glares of doom whenever he's thinking about it all and she's close by.
"Everything okay, doc?" Mal asks, sticking his head in.
"Perfectly fine, thank you," he says, his mouth dry.
"Good, good," he says, nodding absently and giving him a fleeting smile. And then he leaves again, and Simon's chest unconstricts a little, and he curses himself again for wanting something so stupid so much.
