He wants to be cold to her. He's dreamed of her, thought of her at night, cried her name in his sleep and woken feeling guilty. He hates it, but he can't stop thinking about her: his own lovely, lovely sister.
He can't be cold to her, though. Couldn't hurt her if he tried and she loves him, depends upon him as much as he depends on her, perhaps more. He'd be cold to her to hide the warmth of his feelings for her, the dreams he's had about her.
But he can't even do that much to stop himself.
