Ellone smiles at Quistis, shrugging slightly. "Does everything have to serve a purpose? Besides, I don't think it's useless. It's a good way to pass information about past events, under some circumstances. And..."
Quistis raises an eyebrow at Ellone's hesitation. "And?"
"And it reminds us not to live in the past," she says, simply. "It provides a road to the past and yet it shows you that you still can't change anything. It's supposed to teach us not to regret."
"Has it taught you?"
Ellone has to laugh. "Not yet. But maybe it will."
