Summary: Lasaraleen pays a visit to Archenland. For
over_look.
"What a strange place," Lasaraleen murmurs, waiting for a young man to come and help her down from the litter. It has been a long journey -- and, fancy, her skirts are crumpled! -- but it's worth it. She hears Aravis is a queen now, odd as that seems, and married, though Tash knows she never thought her tomboyish friend would settle down. As she comes out of the castle -- a strange, barbarian designed castle -- she's even wearing a beautiful dress: Narnian fashion, of course, but somehow becoming on her.
"Las!" Aravis hugs her tightly -- seemingly heedless of the possibilities of wrinkles in her clothing. She swings away, her skirts floating, waving at a tall young man with pale skin to call him over. "Las, this is Cor -- Shasta. The boy I told you about when I was escaping Tashbaan."
"I thought you said he was just a common boy?"
Aravis shrugs -- a most unladylike gesture, and in front of her husband, too! But he just smiles, bowing slightly and taking her hand to kiss it. "'Tis a pleasure, Tarkheena Lasaraleen. I trust the journey wasn't too arduous."
"He's practicing his kingly manners again," Aravis mutters, giving him a dark look. Lasaraleen has to laugh, despite how strange it all is -- how different Aravis seems.
"I should've known you would end up in a strange place like this."
"Well," Aravis says, looking around as if surprised to hear the place described as strange, "I love it here. Let me show you around."
Lasaraleen hesitates, but Aravis drags her off -- as if crumpled skirts don't matter here.
