When he sees her there, with Yuna and Paine, he feels sick. Like he swallowed broken glass or something. She's there and bright and happy, the sun catching fire in her hair, and a little more grown up, and a little more tempting with all the bare warm skin that taunts everybody. He carefully avoids Lulu's eyes -- and, that night, when they stay to rest there, the tent, saying he's not tired. He is. The very sight of her, alive and warm and beautiful, makes him feel tired, and older, somehow. 'Cause as sure as anything, he'll never have her.
