"Here?" Laguna shows a glimmer of a smile. "How... romantic."
Squall gives him a withering look. "Romance had nothing to do with it. Not for me, anyway."
"But for her, I meant."
Squall sighs. "She always did that. Thought I felt more than I did, took simple promises to mean more. Took something as simple as a different location to mean my feelings had changed."
Laguna hesitates, and then carefully puts his arm around Squall -- still nervous of open gestures like that outside of their rooms, although they're alone.
"I don't do that, do I?"
Squall gives him a look. He smiles sheepishly.
