Every year, Nida makes resolutions. He resolves to make people notice him, resolves to have a conversation with Commander Squall Leonhart that isn't about work and is more than five words long on both sides. He resolves to smile at people he doesn't know and act friendly and talk to people more.
He never manages it, of course. He opens his mouth alright, but the words don't come out, or the words balance on the tip of his tongue but he can't open his mouth.
He can think it out, though. He can imagine what he'd say, imagine that he'll say it.
