Cecil thought he'd realise he was in love with a girl at some romantic moment: when their eyes met across a crowded room, or when he saved her from something, or when she was bandaging his war wounds. Instead, he found himself realising it at a rather undignified moment -- since he'd just managed to trip over his own feet, unused to the balance of his new armour.
Rosa laughed, one hand coming up to cover her mouth, her eyes bright. "Are you okay?" she'd asked, and he'd known, with a flutter of his heart: he was in love with her.
