Cecil is watching her.
He should probably pay more attention to everything around him, but he doesn't. He sips at his wine occassionally, but his thoughts are all following Rydia, who laughs and sometimes flirts with Edge.
Mostly, though, Edge puts his foot in his mouth, and mostly, Cecil feels relieved by that.
It's not that he doesn't like Edge.
It's just that nobody's quite good enough for Rydia, who is all power and mystery and black magic wrapped up in a trim, slim and beautiful young girl.
It's just that he feels about Rydia what he thinks he'll feel about his own kid, someday.
