FFVI: Absolute Power

Summary: Absolute power corrupts absolutely. For
esper_cave.
It is amazing, and more than amazing, to finally have it all. Magic. It soothes the aches he didn't know were there -- feeds the cravings and leaves him smiling, laughing, and it won't stop. It will never stop. It is all his, all his, and nobody can destroy him. God can't die, can't be killed, and that's what he is now, and oh, how they'll cower. How they'll beg and plead for their lives, and he might spare them. Might not.
Might destroy them. There's a taste that comes after that. In a lesser being it would be bile, guilt: in him, it is only more magic. Confirmation that he is what he is, that he will never yield up his power.
Perhaps he should destroy them. All of them. They pose no threat and yet they could be troublesome, and they're offensive in the way they snivel and cower, avoiding the confrontation of not him, but the part inside all of them that would happily do as he does.
He knows that part. The sane part, too, is still there, but it revels in the magic just as the rest of him does.
There is nothing absolute power won't solve or silence.
