Edge never intended to fall in love with Cecil. In fact, that was far, far, far, far from the plan. The plan, such as it was, was to fall in love with Rydia -- more suitable, in that she was a girl, not crazily in love with Rosa, and rather more likely to return the feeling. Edge is no stranger to stupid crushes, though, and to the stupid love that comes from them, and he covers it with only the faintest of hollow aches inside when Rosa and Cecil visit. It's just his stupid luck, though, so typical of life.
