Rydia is laughing, beautiful, with bright ribbons in her hair, and Edge is watching her eagerly, smiling. Cecil is oddly possessive, watching that scene -- thinking of the tiny girl in the burning village, the tiny fierce spirit that has always burned so bright.
"She's grown up well."
"Yes," he replies, absently. He smiles as Rosa slips an arm through his, comfortingly there when he finds himself worried about Rydia.
Rosa laughs as Rydia says something to Edge that has him looking chastened. "She knows how to handle herself."
"I'm glad about that."
Rosa nods, moving closer to him. "No need to worry too much."
