Baku is an unnerving person to be questioned by. Even though Blank has been told he's a soft touch -- that he'll find some way for Blank to be useful to him -- it's still nerve wracking.
"Not really."
"Clever, then?"
Blank has been told he's clever. Quick, and clever. Those are the qualities he's known for and so he nods, and bites his lip, and then adds, "And quick."
"We can definitely use you..."
Baku lets it trail off. He looks Blank over again, like he's seeing him for the first time, and then nods.
"Ask Marcus to show you where to sleep."
