Blank has heard of magic, distantly -- read about it, actually. He's never actually met a mage before and for some reason he's always wanted to.
It isn't the kid's fault that he's tiny and rather unimpressive looking for a black mage -- somehow, Blank pictured heroism. But no. Just a kid. A scared kid, even.
"You'll be okay," he promises the kid, somewhat awkwardly, wondering all the same how a big power gets contained inside a tiny little thing.
"O-okay," the kid whispers.
Blank wants to ask to see a spell. Just one. But he shakes his head and leaves the kid alone.
