Laying next to Kain, in the half dark, the dragoon's arm slung over him comfortably, it was easy to think it could last forever. They had a good king, and a comfortable life, and a home, and friends. They'd been friends forever, close enough friends for one to crawl into the other's bed when they felt the need, and now -- now they were more.
Listening to Kain's breathing and watching the room fill up with light, watching shadows retreat, Cecil thought partly about closing the drapes, and partly about how comfortable he was. Nothing would end it. Not even Rosa.
