Pairing: Book/Inara
Warnings: None
Rating: G
Summary: Book can't define Inara's charm.
Inara is an alluring woman. Not just because of the sense of sexuality and spirituality and comfortableness Book feels she carries with her, but because she has a charming smile that is not all fake, and because she is beautiful in her own right -- strip away the make up, the beautiful dresses, the training, the manners, and she would still have an allure that he couldn't quite describe if he tried.
That is, perhaps, why Book stays away from her as much as he can, after a while. At first, he let himself be drawn -- let himself be pushed into being drawn, carrying food to her shuttle and going to her when he needed cleaning up. Her touch was gentle and made him want things he had barely thought of in years.
And in some way, she made that not feel wrong.
