The blood splattered from Seifer's blade as he turned, blade rising and then falling as he saw it was Rinoa there. He tried to smile, but the movement of his face muscles made blood spill from a gaping cut on his cheek. Rinoa started forward, but he shook his head. "It's okay, Rin. Not a problem."
"Not a problem?"
Seifer shrugged slightly, listening for something.
"Seifer?"
"Monster's coming. Let's move."
"How do you...?"
"I just know. It's a thing you get used to listening for when you're in a war."
Rinoa bit her lip. "I'm sorry -- "
"It's okay, Rin. Just... quit following me."
