Thanks. :D Really, I think in the series, though Mal is still anti-Alliance, it's less him actually being Independent as such as just him continuing to be against the Alliance, if you know what I mean? He does his best to defy the Alliance, but -- until Serenity, at least -- he isn't actively trying to throw a spanner in the works.
