Mal knows when an area's gettin' too hot for 'em, knows just when to skip out. Mainly because people start sorta lookin' at them and thinkin' and comparin' notes, and then maybe it's him or maybe it's the Tams, but either way, it's time to go. Thinkin' and comparin' is all very well, but not when it's dangerous. He ain't plannin' on havin' himself -- nor either of the Tams -- ridin' that rail of infamy and that, to him, is that. The safety of himself and the safety of his crew is more important than their reluctance to head back out into the black.
